Families hotels

Italy offers many families hotels in every region, from the snow-clad Alps till Sicily; but the best equipped region for Italy family holidays is South Tyrol, located at the Dolomites foot. Dolomites Hiking moreover, these mountains have been declared “World Cultural Heritage” by the UNESCO in June 2009 and Alpe di Siusi, the highest Alpine meadow in Europe, is often voted as the “best destination in Europe” for family holidays. South Tyrol offers two hotel groups for families: the “Kinderhotels”, which is present in Austria and Germany as well, and “Familienhotels”; the hotels in the mountains belonging to the latter are located in every valley of South Tyrol. In the rest of Italy, you can count on the “ItalyFamilyHotels” or “Giocovacanza” hotel groups!

South Tyrol family hiking tours

South Tyrol offers many family hiking tours for families, such as the “Zannes Shepherds’ Huts” one, located in Val di Funes, the “Baby mission game” itinerary in Alta Pusteria, or the famous “Waalwege” around Merano. These hiking tours are very easy and panoramic. It’s also possible to count on many bike itineraries like the Via Claudia Augusta in Val Venosta, whose difficulty level is also very low. The Dolomites also offer many itineraries for children; the ones which are studying WW1 at school can even have a look at the open air museums in Alta Badia, as this war was fought here on the Austro-Italian front!
